Illinois budget pass
So Illinois Governor JB Pritzker states that Illinois government has
now balanced the budget. But has Illinois done this? Has Chicago
required Pritzker to put the toilets back into the house next to his
that he took out to have the building declared uninhabitable and cut
his property tax bill? What kind of budgetary political jokes has
Pritzker used to “Balance the Budget”?
Perhaps we should
get on a train in Moline and take it to Chicago to ask Pritzker. If
he is not there we can then take the train to Springfield. Oh wait,
there is no train from Moline to Chicago, just money to supposedly
make one. Hope they do better than California did on train.
Illinois is doing
the usual thing with raising taxes and fees on businesses and various
things. They have this new and I do not know how to describe it but
it is not allowing interchange fees for tax and tips on credit and
debit card transactions.
So you got to the
gas station July 1 and put your debit card in the pump and the pump
somehow tells you to go into the gas station to pay in cash. What?
Or you go to your favorite restaurant, say the State Street Cafe in
Geneseo Illinois or Ana’s Cafe in Rock Falls Illinois and you try
to pay your bill with your card but are told to pay the tax and tip
in cash. Why? Sure, for politicians it may sound good, but it is a
business nightmare.
So instead of going
to Brothers in Rapids City Illinois you go to the Valley Inn Ale
House or the Valley Country Cafe both in Pleasant Valley Iowa right
across the Mississippi River. Those same restaurants are within an
easy drive from Geneseo and Rock Falls. People in the state border
towns and cities already go over state line for Gasoline. Trips are
planned in a way to not get gasoline in Illinois.
Go to Northeastern
Illinois by Indiana and with the exception of Gary Indiana, the
prosperity has left Illinois and has gone to Indiana. Cairo Illinois
is a dead city as is East Saint Louis.
Illinois is doing
its usual shell game and sending money to Chicago. They raise taxes
and fees. Illinois creates situations that cause not only businesses
to fail but also people. JB Pritzker and the Illinois Democrats have
been spending their careers in destroying the state.
To the neighboring
states and especially my state of Iowa, take this as a warning. Do
not put Democrats in the majority of the chambers or in state wide
seats. It is a recipe for fiscal and social disaster!
